Power Supply Issue
First make sure that your charger is actually on. Sometimes it may appear that the LED light is on, when it is not. Check: Is the outlet live? Try plugging in another device to confirm power.
If you have a Bruno stairlift, you've installed new batteries and the lift is not receiving power, then you'll likely hear beeping. The beeping is to let you know that the lift is not receiving power.
Lift Not Docked Properly
Stairlifts that have charging points must be parked in their charging station at the top or bottom of the rail. All Bruno stairlifts, except for the exterior Bruno Elite stairlift, charge along the full rail and do not need to be at a specific charging point to charge
Check: Ensure the lift is fully seated at the charging point. A slight misalignment can stop charging.
Blown Fuse or Tripped Breaker
The stairlift charger or outlet circuit may have a blown fuse or tripped breaker.
Check: Inspect your home's breaker panel and the fuse inside the charger - if accessible.
Battery Fault
If the batteries are old or defective, the charger may show red to indicate it's unable to charge properly.
Check: If the stairlift is running slowly or not holding a charge, the batteries may need replacement.
Loose or Damaged Wiring
Damaged or loose connections between the charger, track, or lift can interrupt charging.
Check: Look for frayed wires or connectors that appear disconnected or corroded.
Charger Error
Some chargers have diagnostic lights. A red light could signal an internal fault or over-temperature protection.
Check: Refer to the manufacturer’s manual for what the red light specifically means for your model.
Unplug and replug the charger.
Move the lift to a charging station and listen for the charging “click” or indicator.
Contact your stairlift provider or technician if the issue persists or the red light stays on.
